WyldTyle Updates
What has changed in the game, and why. WyldTyle is built by a very small team, so these posts are written by the people who made the changes, in the order they shipped.
-
Achievements, and eleven new avatars to earn
Eleven achievements, from beating Tyler on the daily challenge to a 30-day streak. Each one unlocks a new avatar, and games you've already played count.
-
Last Call, 1-point wilds, and a 2-point H
The end-of-game trade is now Last Call: place none, one or both letters, so a roll never hurts. Wilds now score 1 point, and H is worth 2.
-
Your record, three ways
Profile stats now split into Multiplayer, Daily and Solo, and a friend's profile shows your record against them with a Rematch button.
-
Reminders, a turn timer, and matches that keep moving
Remind a friend it's their move, a three-day turn clock, leaving a match, invites that don't hang, and your turn showing up the moment you're notified.
-
Better sharing and a cleaner board
Shares with a row per level and a picture of your score, spoiler-free results for friends, a board that fits your screen, and safer password recovery.
-
A new home page, and a new look
One Up next list, a daily card that shows every level, your results and a countdown when you're done, and a fresh look across the site.
-
Undo, resume, and a better finish
Take back a turn, pick up an unfinished board, clearer tiles and dice, a new finish screen, and friend requests on the home page.
-
Sign in with Google or Apple, still no email
One-tap sign-in that shares only an anonymous account number, a three-step sign-up, and display names that are yours alone.
-
WyldTyle on iPhone and Android
The apps are out, with notifications that say something, a 7pm streak reminder, and links that open in the app.
-
One challenge a day, and a bot named Tyler
Three short levels on the same dice for everyone, gates between them, streaks, sharing, and Tyler's score to beat.
-
Word lists and guides, built from the real dictionary
Ten word lists and eight strategy guides, every number pulled from the list the game actually checks against.
-
Hints for everyone, and tools for a friendlier community
Easy and Pro modes are gone. Hints are in every game now, and you can report or block another player.
-
The perfect board gets a name: Wyld Pyle
Full Wyld becomes Wyld Pyle, with a celebration to match, alongside a round of accessibility work and an automatic dark mode.
-
Know when it's your turn
Browser and phone notifications for your turn, accepted friend requests, and beaten high scores, each one optional.
