You can now create an account and sign in with Google or Apple, in one tap. It's live on the website today and comes to the iPhone and Android apps with their next update.
Still no email
WyldTyle has never asked for your email, and signing in with Google or Apple doesn't change that. We ask them for nothing but an anonymous account number, the one thing we need to recognise you next time. No name, no email address, no contacts. The first time you sign in, you pick the display name other players see.
Deleting your account removes the link to Google or Apple too, so you can start fresh with the same login later if you want to.
A shorter sign-up for everyone else
Prefer a username and password? That's still here, now in three short steps instead of one long form: your names, your password, then a security question for getting back in if you forget it. If a username or display name is taken, you find out on the first step rather than after typing everything else.
Names are yours
Display names are unique now, so no two players can share one, and names that are slurs or strong profanity aren't allowed. We tuned that filter against the game's own dictionary so it doesn't catch innocent names; if it ever rejects yours by mistake, tell us.
