Know when it's your turn

Multiplayer WyldTyle is turn-based, and a match between friends can stretch across a day. Until now the only way to know it was your turn was to open the game and look. From today, the game can tell you, in your browser or on your phone, and you choose exactly what it tells you about.

What you can be notified about

Each type has its own switch on your profile page, so you can have turn alerts without score alerts or the other way round. Turning everything off is one tap.

Browser notifications

On the web, WyldTyle now uses standard browser push notifications. Your browser will ask for permission the first time you enable them, and it will show notifications even when the game's tab is closed. If you accidentally blocked the permission, the profile page explains how to unblock it for your browser.

We are careful about when we ask. New players are not prompted at all. Once you have played a few games, a small note on the home page offers to turn notifications on, and dismissing it makes it go away for good.

Phone notifications

The mobile apps use the phone's native notification system, so a turn alert arrives like any other notification on your device. The settings are the same as on the web and are shared with your account, so a switch you flip on your phone is flipped on the web too.

A note on data

Enabling notifications stores a delivery address for your browser or phone with your account. It is used only to deliver the notifications you turned on, and it is deleted when you turn them off or delete your account. The privacy policy has the details.
