Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about how WyldTyle works, accounts, scoring, and the ad-free upgrade. Still stuck? Email us at support@6831plays.com.
What is WyldTyle?
WyldTyle is a free word-building game that mixes dice and vocabulary. Over 19 turns you roll random letters and place them into eight word slots of different lengths, trying to spell valid English words and score the highest total. It plays in your browser and on mobile.
Do I need an account to play?
No. You can play a solo game as a guest without signing up. Creating a free account unlocks multiplayer games with friends, a saved game history across devices, leaderboard placement, stat tracking, and a custom display name and avatar.
How long is a game?
Every game is exactly 19 turns — two letters per turn fill all 38 slots on the board — plus one optional trade at the end. A solo game usually takes just a few minutes.
How does scoring work?
Each valid word scores the sum of its letter values, from 1 point for common letters like E, R, S, and T up to 5 points for K and V. Invalid words score nothing, and wild tiles always count as zero even inside a valid word. If all eight words are valid you earn a 20-point Full Wyld bonus. The full breakdown is in How to Play.
What are wild tiles?
Each die has a small chance of rolling a wild instead of a letter. When you place a wild you choose which letter it stands for, which is great for finishing a word you couldn't otherwise spell. The trade-off is that a wild scores zero points, so it's best used to complete words rather than to fill high-value ones.
Which letters can I use?
WyldTyle uses a 22-letter alphabet. The letters J, Q, X, and Z don't appear on the dice and can't be chosen for a wild, so no valid word in the game needs them.
What's the difference between Easy and Pro mode?
Easy mode offers hints: once a word is more than a third filled, you can ask the game to show valid words that fit. Pro mode turns hints off for players who want a pure vocabulary challenge.
How does multiplayer work?
Sign in, head to Multiplayer, and invite one to three friends. Everyone plays and the highest total score wins. You'll get a notification when it's your turn or when a game finishes.
How do I get rid of ads?
Free games are supported by ads. You can buy the one-time WyldTyle Pro upgrade to remove them — see the upgrade page for details. Purchases are handled by our payments partner; we never see or store your card details.
Is WyldTyle free?
Yes. The full game is free to play. The optional Pro upgrade only removes advertising; it doesn't change the gameplay.
